2 winding up orders - 28th July
« on: July 22, 2010, 11:05:54 AM »

The worrying trend of non-league football clubs finding themselves in the High Court continues with Blue Square Bet South Dorchester Town and Blue Square Bet North Ilkeston Town the latest.

A petition to wind up Dorchester was presented on June 15th 2010 by the Commissioners for HM Revenue & Customs, claiming to be Creditors of the Company.

This will be heard at the Royal Courts of Justice in the Strand, London on 28th July 2010.

The Petition to wind up Ilkeston, presented on May 18th 2010, also by the Commissioners for HMRC, will also be heard at the Royal Courts of Justice on the same day.

It is to be hoped that July 28th isn't a really bad day for non-league football!

There must be something in the air down in Hampshire & Dorset, in the Football League Southampton suffered financial woes before the Swiss stepped in and bailed them out and Portsmouth's woes are highlighted on the Sports pages most days.

Non-League sees both Weymouth and now Dorchester as superb examples of how not to run football clubs, they're only 8 miles apart !!!  Shocked  Salisbury haven't fared too well recently either !

The only positive news coming out from down there was that Poole Town seem to have been given the go ahead for a Stadium move after years in the wilderness since leaving the speedway/greyhound track - they were a decent side in those days.

Dorchester seem to have come to an agreement.
